ACMPE has partnered with Castle centers to offer approximately 500 exam sites. Once you register for an exam through the MGMA store and your eligibility has been confirmed, you will be provided with a user name and password that will allow you to select your exam location, date and time. Please note that you won't be able to schedule your exam appointment at a Castle testing site until you have submitted your registration fees and eligibility requirement.

This webinar will focus on establishing a logical chart of accounts, tracking overhead, and report structure to best accomplish at-a-glance monitoring.
Marilyn Kitchens rejoined PBMares in 2015 and is a member of the firm’s tax team. Marilyn’s original tenure with the firm (formerly PBGH, LLP) began in 1998 after graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from Strayer University. Marilyn gained experience in tax preparation and planning, auditing, financial statement compilations, QuickBooks consulting, and business startups but specialized primarily in physician practices and was a member of the Healthcare niche team.
In 2001, Ms. Kitchens moved to work in the private healthcare industry, managing a psychiatric practice, where she worked closely with shareholders to design effective accounts receivable management, to restructure professional compensation and benefits, and to manage and mentor the staff during corporate change. In 2003, Marilyn joined Fredericksburg’s largest single-specialty medical practice as their practice administrator.
With her return to PBMares, Marilyn’s primary focus includes business consulting services and performing tax preparation, review, and planning. She is currently involved with the firm’s development of medical practice consulting services to include practice benchmarking, overhead analysis and containment, information systems review and vendor selection, employee benefits and human resource policies, facilities planning, executive recruitment, and operations reviews.

This session addresses the legal challenges posed by physician practice use of social media , so as to prevent lurking liabilities. It will look at specific challenges relating to compliance with HIPAA, and medical malpractice risks, such as the risks posed by employees posting protected health information (PHI) on social media accounts, and how responding to online inquiries can lead to malpractice exposure, with discussion of real-life scenarios. The session also explores practical, technological, and legal techniques for addressing these risks, including social media policies for physician practices, a discussion of secure messaging, and suggestions for employee training.
Explain some of the basic functionality of social media platforms.
Analyzing the legal, practical, and technological risks involved in using social media within the physician practice context.
Outline practical and legal advice to mitigate such risks.

Daniel F. Shay is an attorney with Alice G. Gosfield and Associates, P.C. His practice is restricted to health law and health care regulation focusing on physician representation, fraud and abuse compliance, Medicare Part B reimbursement, and HIPAA compliance in the physician context. He also focuses his attention on EHR license agreements, physician advertising, Medicare enrollment, quality reporting and measurement, and physician use of social media. He has published on all of these topics both in the trade press and in major chapters in the HEALTH LAW HANDBOOK. Mr. Shay received his Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in 2000 from Vanderbilt University and his juris doctorate degree from Emory University School of Law in 2003. He is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, and is the Vice Chair of Educational Programs for the American Health Lawyers Association's Physician Organizations Practice Group.

Mr. Reilly has extensive experience in all aspects of employment and labor law including: wage and hour laws, wrongful termination, non-compete and non-solicitation litigation, class and collective action lawsuits, and litigation involving discrimination and workplace harassment, among other employment issues. Ms. McAllister is a Partner at Martin Clearwater & Bell LLP. She is a counselor and litigator with the Firm’s Employment & Labor practice group. She represents clients on employment related issues ranging from discrimination and harassment to violations of all state and federal wage and hour laws in a wide variety of industries including health care, hospitality, staffing, accounting, and retail.
Ms. McAllister successfully represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the New York State and New York City anti-discrimination agencies. She provides vigorous defense in federal and state courts in employment actions, and manages complex and often contentious discovery. Ms. McAllister received her B.A., with honors, from Rutgers College in 1999 and her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, with International Moot Court Honors, in 2008. She is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
